Ingredients
| 3 | eggs | 3 |
| 1 cup | sugar | 250 mL |
| 1 cup | flour | 250 mL |
| 1 tsp | baking powder | 5 mL |
| 2 | large tart apples (like Granny Smith) | 2 |
| 1 tsp | fresh lemon juice (or a squeeze) | 5 mL |
| bread crumbs | ||
| cinnamon (optional) |
Directions
Mix eggs with sugar, add flour and baking powder, set aside.
In the meantime, cup apples into small cubes or chunks and mix with lemon juice.
Lightly grease a 9-inch/22-cm round baking dish and sprinkle it with plain bread crumbs. Layer apples on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with cinnamon (if desired).
Pout batter over the apples and bake at 375°F/190°C for about 45 minutes or until you see a capuccino color crust on top.
Check for complete readiness with a wooden stick. Let it cool off before removing from the baking dish.
To serve, you can keep the same way, or turn it upside down (requires some tricky moves not break it!). If turning, you can sprinkle it with powdered sugar when completely cooled off.
Serve it with hot tea or coffee by itself, or with ice cream on top - either way it is light and delicious!
Chef's Note

Recipe so easy and really wonderful, your kids will enjoy not only eating it, but making it, too!
This was my first "serious" recipe I learned at the age of 8 and made for lots of occasions even as a child.
